Indigenous villages move back from coast

· Climate Change,Indigenous Village,environmentalism,Pacific Northwest,Quinalt Nation

In end of my novel "Flight of the Goose", the historical site of (fictional) arctic village Itiak is destroyed by storms and rising sea level; the villagers must move inland or to the big city.

In real life, Indigenous villages all over the world, including those on the coasts and rivers of North America, are faced with the daunting and hugely expensive task of moving the village site to higher ground - and risk losing precious cultural traditions in so doing.
